Hi my name is Syeda Waseema Zahra Barnes , I am a 42-year-old trans woman, a proud Shia Muslim, and the founder of this society. Above all, I am a devoted mother to my beautiful 12-year-old daughter, whom I adopted when she was just six months old. She is the light of my life, the reason I strive for a more compassionate world, and the heart behind this mission.

We are an LGBTQIA+ Shia Muslim Society dedicated to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for all. Whether you’re from any Muslim school of thought, a non-Muslim, or an ally — you are welcome here.

Our community is built on love, respect, and unity, with a shared devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt (ع). Through this love, we bring people together across identities, backgrounds, and beliefs to foster support, education, and solidarity.
