Queer Couchsurfing

Sleeping at a random persons house is pretty scary and potentially dangerous for most people who are not cis, straight, white and male. But the basic idea of Couchsurfing is so good! Imagine you arrive in Paris after a long trip, are really exhausted and then meet Mel (they/them), queer, understanding exactly where you are coming from.
You connect on a whole different level with a new place through the people that share your perspective and your experiences.
There is this initial layer of trust and understanding that you as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community feel when you meet another queer person. It is really hard to find that by coincidence. Especially when traveling, you have to rely on your network.
As a queer person and/or woman, traveling is connected to a higher risk. With Quouch, we provide an environment to be faster around people you feel warm and safe with.
Like this, we so passionately strive for creating a worldwide queer network - not only ready for you to host or be hosted, but also to hang out or simply ask for advise.
We are running this gofundme, because we were confronted with a huge, surprising bill of 4700€. We hope that this might help.
Thank you so much.
Disclaimer: We try our best to create a safe space. Still, a safe space is always only a safer space. We have measurements in place such as being invite-only to make sure we build a trusted community as sustainably as possible. Still, ultimately, this is the internet and own precautions such as video calling before an actual stay is recommended.
