We're back! We're bigger! And we're bolder!
Queen Books Newcastle, a Newcastle-based LGBTQ+ book club, is back this UK Pride Month with another fundraiser.
Fundraising, activism and solidarity are key parts of the queer community and experience. In the current climate of the world, it is now more important that ever to join and strengthen communities and their efforts.
This year, our focus is on Rainbow Home, a specialist charity in the North East of England, providing relief, assistance and promotion of social inclusion to LGBTQ+ indentifing asylum seekers and unsettled refugees. They provide individual case support for people progressing through the UK asylum process, and a facilitated social environment to reduce isolation where people can relax, gain mutual support, and feel part of the local LGBTQ+ community.
Our primary fundraising efforts will be via local market stalls, selling second-hand books, art and bric-a-brac.
Find us! at:
- Sister Shack Second-hand Market - The Old Coal Yard - May 10th 12-5pm
- Teeside Radical Book Faire - The Auxillary - May 23rd 12-5pm
- Sudnerland Minster Market - Sunderland Minster Church - June 6th 10-2pm
If you can't make one of our market days, or want to donate directly to the fundraiser, please donate to this GoFundMe!
Our fundraiser will finish on June 30th and all donations will go directly to Rainbow Home's work!
