Laurie is a fiercely independent and determined teenager. But unlike most teenagers Laurie has had to fight for her life after developing Dilated Cardiomyopathy, she spent a year in hospital with prolonged periods in intensive care. This critical illness has left a legacy of problems for Laurie as she now suffers from osteonecrosis and a destructive joint disease in most of her joints . This means that she is in constant pain and her mobility is restricted. To enable her to get around we would like her to have a wheelchair that is tailor made to her needs, we need to fund this ourselves.
