Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Birmingham)
Just before Christmas last year (2024) my 19 year old daughter, Faith, developed stomach pains. Three days later we were told she had a large growth on her pancreas. We were very blessed that within a few days she was under the care of Ward 726 of the Birmingham QE hospital. On the 2nd January 2025 she had a solid pseudopapillary neoplasm (a rare pancreatic tumour) removed, as well as her spleen and half her pancreas. Having spent 3 weeks at the QE we have nothing but praise and thanks for all the staff who work there.
To try and support in some small way my son, Sim, and I are planning to complete a WOLF run on 12 April. This 10km event is a combination of Woods, Obstacles (about 30 of them), Lakes, and Fields. Three days before my 50th birthday this will be a real challenge, but nothing compared to what the amazing staff of the QE hospital face each day.
