Queen Contest for La'Keisha Butts to Raise Scholarship Funds
Donation protected

Greetings!
I am thrilled to share that I have been selected as a contestant in the Order of the Eastern Star Queen’s Contest, representing Hadassah Chapter No. 1171, Fayetteville, NC. I am honored to compete alongside remarkable women from diverse backgrounds who share a commitment to high ethical standards and spiritual values as we unite to raise funds for a worthy cause in North Carolina.
The Queen’s Contest is a significant annual campaign that raises scholarship funds for deserving students pursuing higher education. Since joining the Order of the Eastern Star in 2022, I have served as Secretary and currently hold the position of Associate Matron.
Additionally, I currently serve as the Secretary for Crown Jewels LKT Council #1645 in Fayetteville, NC. I am also a part of the Community Service Committee with the NC Grand Council (Crown & Scepter) and serve as the Organizing Deputy for the NC Grand LKT Drill Team.
My dedication to philanthropy and community service spans many years. I founded the TeenLit Book Club in Edgewood, MD, to foster a lifelong love of reading in young people and also served as the Girl Scout Troop Leader for Troop #437 in Edgewood, MD. Additionally, I have been actively involved in youth ministry at the Epicenter Community Church (Mountain Christian Church). I am an advocate and supporter of the Innocence Project, where I played a key role in the successful exoneration of a family member.
I am also a proud member of Nehemiah Church of God in Christ in Durham, NC, and the National Council of Negro Women, Durham Chapter. Currently, I am deeply committed to making a positive impact on the lives of college students through my work at North Carolina Central University in Durham, NC.
I am seeking your generous support to help make a student's dream of higher education a reality. My goal is to raise a minimum of $2,000, and every contribution, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated.
The Queen’s Contest will take place in November 2024 in Durham, NC, and donations must be received by November 15, 2024.
Thank you for your support in this important endeavor!
