I am hoping you can help...I know you can and to make it even easier...here is why I ask you to help!

Again Cancer the bitch has affected one of our loved Racing Family members, a very special person and very close to my heart, so it is even more important to me that we help her to get through these challenging times!

CHRISTY Moynihan – who doesn’t know her?

One of the most energetic, fun and caring people in our Paddock. IMSA Racing, Vintage Racing, SCCA, and of course a long-term crew member of Riley Motorsports.

Christy works full-time in the construction industry but her passion is Racing (and music :-)). 1987, thanks to Dyson Racing, she fell in love with racing and the racing family. She occupied several positions as team manager and registrar and now she is looking after Riley Motorsports and their well-being at the track.

In April just before the Long Beach GP, Christy’s life changed tremendously – she received the diagnosis everybody is fearing - Class 3 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma.

During the 24 Hours of Daytona, she noticed a lump in her underarm that got to be painful. She went to the Doctor as soon as that event was wrapped up... that lead to a LOT of testing, biopsies, etc only to be officially diagnosed on April 7, with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Breast cancer had already spread to her lymph nodes. The entire process moved VERY quickly at that point, as she found out she is HER2 Positive, which means cancer spreads quickly with a high chance of recurrence.

She is at Stage 2, there are multiple spots in the right breast and already spread to 2 spots in the lymph nodes. Since she is part of the 20% that is HER2+, the chance of spreading and recurrence was/is high...so she will have to have surgery, and she is trying to avoid radiation, but that isn't off the table. She does NOT want to go thru this again! So she will continue to do HER2+ treatments into 2024 to eliminate recurrence as well.

I learned about this at Laguna Seca in May and was heartbroken knowing what this means to Christy and all involved!

As we all know the weekly Chemotherapy and all the treatments are a nightmare and cause a lot of side effects you have to deal with and cause a lot of costs etc.

Hence, Christy is in a very challenging situation. Her 34-year-old daughter Ashley greatly supports her going through all the treatments and emotional ups and downs. Her family is helping her as much as possible, and her friends of course, with the house and other things that have to be done.

Christy is health insured BUT – as we all know – being ill in this country means you still have to cover a lot of huge costs and bills. This being said – actually, it is scary to see the amounts you still have to cover and therefore I have a big favor to ask you all - to help Christy cover some of these costs...

I am sure you all agree – we want to see her back SOON in the several paddocks of racing, smiling, passionate, energetic, and active again!
