I’m Miael ‘Jahbigs’ McGeachy, a Jamaican who has lived in the UK for 30 years. Raised in the Rockers International movement, music and Jamaican culture are core to who I am. I’m currently facilitating hurricane relief efforts, raising funds and collecting essential items for two communities that are very close to my heart: The Treasure Beach Women’s Centre and The Breadnut Valley community in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica.

These areas have been devastated by a once-in-a-lifetime hurricane that tore through Jamaica. Homes, farms, and community spaces have been lost — but the spirit of the people remains unbroken.

This fundraiser is personal.

• My aunty serves as a board member at the Treasure Beach Women’s Centre, so I’m directly linked with the people who will receive the support.

• The Breadnut Valley community is being supported by the Cowan family, including my friend Sherece Cowan, who I’ve worked with for years. She is on the ground, providing food and resources to families in need.

Every pound or dollar raised will go directly to these two communities — ensuring that aid, food, and rebuilding materials reach those who need them most.

So far, we’ve used the donations for the following:

We are collecting both monetary donations and essential products (non-perishable foods, hygiene products, baby supplies, etc.) to send directly to St. Elizabeth. We still need £600 pounds for transport for distribution on the ground.

This is just the beginning — a small step towards helping these vibrant communities recover, rebuild, and rise again. Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference. Let’s come together to show love and solidarity with Jamaica.
