Quan's College Fundraiser
My name is Ja'Quan Riggins and I am a 12th grade student ambassador at Booker T Washington High School in Atlanta, GA. I am growing up in an area where the majority of the population lives below the poverty line and the chances for young people like me to go to college is slim to none. My determination and hardwork has led me to be apart of the top 10% of my class.
Academically I am involved in the National Honor Society of High School Scholars, Upward Bound, and Project Excel.
Atheletically I am involved in L.E.A.D Ambassadors, Baseball Team, Football Team, Drill and Rifle Team and Color Guard.
Service wise I have contributed time at Grady Memorial Hospital, JROTC, and Boy Scouts, as well as mentoring young future leaders like myself through the Atlanta Fifth Ward Boys Association.
For me, college is not just a dream but a reality. As
the first member of my family to go college, I am headstrong on paving a way for my siblings and showcasing what is possible when you put your mind and heart into something you want to achieve.
I am going to school to eventually obtain my Doctorate in Nursing. My aspiration is to use my skills as a nurse to serve and heal people all over the world.
I hope to raise $5,000 dollars to help cover the school expenses that my scholarship does not cover. I will be graduating May 23, 2018 and look forward to the next big journey of my life.
Thank You.
