Quang's Antarctic Expedition 2022

A 21-year-old trying to help protect our planet, starting with Earth's last wilderness

 

Hi, my name is Quang Anh Nguyen. I'm a Chemical & Environmental Engineering student at McGill University. I grew up in Vietnam where I saw the firsthand impact of our actions on the environment. In high school, I became aware of climate change as the most important issue of our generation. Ever since, I've been raising awareness of clean energy, climate justice, and sustainable living.

 

Now, I'm embarking on the 2041 ClimateForce Antarctic Expedition this March. Through the trip, I hope to help more people understand the climate urgency and become green advocates!

My Plan

I have raised 80% of the funding through corporate partnerships with some of Canada's leading companies in the sustainability space. I plan to support them with their climate journey after coming back.

 

My goal with crowdfunding is to get more people involved in the climate journey. I will be documenting the entire trip and want to share my learnings and footage with everyone here.

 

I will also be coming back to give workshops at schools, in my local community, and on social media.

 

The Expedition

The carbon-neutral expedition is led by Robert Swan O.B.E., the great explorer who's the first person to trek to both Poles.

 

We will pass by great glacial landscapes and icebergs, inhabited by some of the world's rarest lifeforms.

 

In addition, I will also be taking part in the "Leadership on the Edge" program, a series of expert discussions and workshops on climate science, clean energy, and leadership, all with the goal of creating future climate leaders.
