Feeling absolutely crap doing this . Please if you get 1 minute check out my little story below and maybe getting your shrapnel from the back of the settee’s, but with a twist of my offer within it to try give something back and my way to wave the flag maybe ;)

Hello ladies and gentlemen, my name is Mark, I have been competing in Triathlon for 14 years now after being a keen (average) footballer. When I started in Triathlon, I literally could not swim front crawl. So, I Joined a local club (Sun City Tri) where I learnt to swim ‘propa’ and I literally fell in love with this sport.
For 14 years I committed myself to this sport often training 7 days a week ranging from 10-15hrs per week, whilst working full time and trying to be a good dad and partner, the support from family is certainly needed in this sport .
From the start I always had the goal to represent my country and wear that GBR vest I see so others wearing. I had been close to qualifying before but just fell short or maybe just not good enough and needed some luck.
Finally, 14 years later and continuously improving, after nailing the qualifying race in Northumberland, I was lucky (or good enough) to qualify for Team GB on the biggest stage in the 2025 World Triathlon Championship finals Wollongong, Australia…. Yes Australia!!
The race consists of a 1500m swim, 40k bike and 10k run - I Can’t tell you how happy I am to be doing this and have my family travel with me to support.
The not so good bit….I soon realised that this is all self-funded, from paying to enter the race, the mandatory GBR Trisuit, kit, bike shipment, flights and accommodation .
My intention with friends and family was to run a fund-raising event, however life passes us by and I ran out of time. I was advised to try this route to help ease some of the financial strain (embarrassed right now) I have a couple of excellent sponsors who have helped me. (there is room for 1 more if anyone is interested in this and having their company on my Trisuit.)
A little twist so I don’t feel like a beggar, anyone who feels like they would like to donate, I’d like to offer my free help with any form of training, training plans or health advice that I can. Just message me .
Thanks for reading another boring sporty post from me and please share!!
