I still have an infection and my incision site has come open in spots. It seems like I take two steps forward and three steps back. I still have not been able to return to work and I have been off of work for 6 weeks.

I have had a little bit of a set back in the healing process. I have developed an infection at the incision site on my head. Hopefully we have caught it early enough that it hasn’t gotten into the CSF fluid and gotten to my brain yet. They have started me on antibiotics and the only neurological symptom I have so far is dizziness.

Over the last year, I have had to miss a lot of work due to health issues. I will be having surgery on October 2 to have a VP shunt placed. A VP shunt is a device that will help drain the excess fluid off of my brain because my body no longer does this naturally on its own. I will have to be off of work for another 4 to 6 weeks.

Me having this procedure and other procedures along with other health issues has put a strain on my family financially. All I am asking for is enough to help cover groceries and help with bills during the time that I will be off of work. I am truly grateful and appreciate anyone who is able to help.
