Hello my name is Rhys McIntosh. This month, I’m challenging myself to run 5 kilometres every single day for 30 days — no rest days, no excuses — to raise as much money as possible for the Deaf Society.
This challenge is deeply personal to me.
My niece is deaf, and watching her grow has opened my eyes to the daily challenges faced by deaf individuals and their families — from communication barriers to access to education, support, and inclusion. It has also shown me just how important organisations like the Deaf Society are in providing vital services, advocacy, and community support.
Running 5km a day will push me both physically and mentally, but it’s nothing compared to the challenges many deaf people navigate every day. That’s why I’m committing fully to this challenge — rain, tired legs, busy days, all of it — to help make a real difference.
Every donation, no matter the size, will go toward supporting:
• Access to resources and services for deaf individuals
• Advocacy for inclusion and equal opportunities
• Support for families navigating deafness
♂️If you’re able to donate, share this page, or simply cheer me on, it would mean the world to me and to those who benefit from the Deaf Society’s work.
Thank you so much for your support — I’ll be running every step with purpose ❤️
