We are completely humbled by the generosity shown to Mallory and Dalton. In just four days, you’ve helped us reach the initial $90,000 goal!
Your kindness is helping lift some of the weight off Mallory’s shoulders. But this journey will be long, and we want to give Mallory the ability to focus on healing, being present for Dalton, and rebuilding life without the constant stress of financial pressures.
We’ve raised the goal to $125,000 to provide a stronger foundation for Mallory and Dalton, not just for immediate needs, but to give them a bit of long-term security in the years ahead.
Thank you again for all of your compassion, generosity, and for continuing to share their story.
I am Robert Broadnax from Colorado, a colleague of Brian’s and friends of Brian and Mallory Carpenter.
Mallory has experienced an unimaginable loss: her husband, daughter, and parents were tragically taken by the Texas floods over the 4th of July weekend. You can read more of their story below.
We’re raising funds to help ease some of the burden Mallory and Dalton now face as they navigate life after this heartbreaking tragedy. Every contribution, big or small, will go directly to Mallory and Dalton to support their immediate and long-term needs.
Even if you’re unable to give, simply sharing this page can help more than you know. Your kindness, support, and willingness to spread the word mean more than words can express.
Thank you for keeping this family in your thoughts and prayers during such a devastating time.
Full Story:
I’m writing with incredibly difficult news to share about our dear friend and colleague Brian Carpenter.
Brian was visiting with his family and in-laws in Hunt, Texas over the July 4th weekend when catastrophic flooding struck the area overnight. The house they were staying in was overwhelmed by rapidly rising water in the middle of the night, and the family was caught in an inescapable situation. Tragically, Brian, his wife Mallory, son Dalton (5), daughter Blake (3), and Mallory’s parents, Pam and Mike Smith, were all swept away.
Miraculously, Mallory and Dalton survived and made it to safety. Both suffered injuries requiring hospitalization, and Dalton required multiple surgeries. They are recovering and thankfully now out of the hospital - though the journey ahead will be difficult.
Mike, Pam, Brian and Blake have all been found deceased.
Anyone who knew Brian knows he was one of the most thoughtful, kind, and genuine people you could ever know. I’ve been fortunate to call him a close friend for the past 12+ years.
Please join me in sending strength, love, and prayers to Mallory, Dalton, and the entire Carpenter and Smith families during this unimaginable time.
Please also share in comments the impact Brian had on you and any memories you want to share, as this will become a resource to the family to memorialize how Brian impacted so many.
