Therapy Dog for Jeremy
Donation protected
As most of you know, Jeremy was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds during October 2017, suffering injuries to his shoulder, head and abdomen. We are indebted to the first responders and miraculous care from the trauma surgical team at Inova Fairfax hospital for saving his life.
Recovery is ongoing, and while Jeremy continues to heal and gain strength for his next major reconstruction surgery, he is now ready for the next step in his rehabilitation - a therapy dog.
We are raising funds to offset the purchase of a puppy that will be lovingly trained by a local service dog charity. (We decided to expedite the service/therapy dog process by purchasing a puppy now to connect Jeremy with his new furry friend as quickly as possible.)
Jeremy has always been an animal lover, and has missed the joy of being a dog owner since his dog Einstein passed several years ago. The companionship of this new puppy will be a positive healing force not only for Jeremy, but also for all of us. Thank you for all the continued prayers, support and love - we are forever grateful to each and every one of you.
A few photos below of Jeremy and his journey - starting with a proud Semper Fi family moment from Sept 2017 prior to his attack, "Every Brother is a Superhero" (it's true!) just before his cranioplasty, and Jeremy with his parents.
