OUR DEMONSTRATION FOR QUEER BIPOC SOLIDARITY NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!
With your help in covering the teams expenses, artists and speaker fees we can make it all happen.
What is the demo about:
Join us on Saturday, June 26, 2021 from 1.30 to 3 p.m. (13:30-15:00) as we march for unity! The march will start at Oranienplatz and end at Alexanderplatz and will feature performances by Isu and Queerberg Collective (House of Royals), music by Isu and Malonda, and speeches and calls to action by Emilia Roig, Antonella Lerca Duda and Tarek Shukrallah.
In a year marked by tragedy and loss, 2020/2021 laid bare what many already know to be true: societal injustices such as racism, (hetero)sexism, ableism--among many other forms of discrimination--continue to affect the lives of the most vulnerable of us. For many Queer, Trans*, Inter*, asexual and aromantic Black, Indigenous and People of Color (QTIBIPOC), the pandemic has not only uprooted spaces of empowerment and solidarity but also threatened people’s literal existences and rights to free expression. Nonetheless, our will and desire to help our community never dimmed; we were and always will be here for the most marginalized.
While for the West the end of the Covid-19 pandemic seems to be coming nearer every day, we wholeheartedly understand that a return to “normal” does not present a feasible option for us. Rather, our survival depends on a radical, intersectional rethinking of WHO can partake in that future. Interested in imagining a radical future in which collective liberation is not a zero-sum game, and equity is not only a demand but a result of sustainable coalition building? Together, we can make a change.
We believe that BIPOC Solidarity…
is Black Lives Matter...
is Trans* Rights are Human Rights…
is an intersectional Queer praxis…
is Jewish and Palestinian solidarity…
is Muslim* Solidarity…
is Stopping Racial Profiling…
is Access for Disabled Folx…
is Decolonization…
is Allyship Accountability…
is ALL OF US…
UNITED.
