Help for Tim
As many of you know, Tim was in a bad accident the other day on his way home and is in the ICU.
To know Tim is to know one of the kindest, most playful, genuine people you will ever meet, who would do anything for anyone.
Now we get to show up for the McGuire family. Due to the Coronavirus, the McGuire family is not able to be with their son/brother at this time.
Let’s give what we can to help Tim, and the McGuires, to help ease the burden for them in what is already a hard time.
If you can’t give - that’s okay - just share! Let’s share with as many people as possible to support Tim.
*I am a friend and former class mate of Tim's from our time at Pine Tree Academy in Freeport, Maine... I have given his sister and mom access to the page to ensure He and his family receive ALL of the funds at the end of the fundraiser.
UPDATED 3/30/2020:
Borrowed from a FB post from Tim's Mom: "After taking a big plane from Orlando to Dallas and a small plane that had a bit of a rocky landing from Dallas to South Bend, Norm and I are here in the airport waiting for our phones to charge. Both planes were nearly empty, and Dallas/Ft. Worth was a ghost town.
"We are so overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from all of you. Friends and family show their true import in times like these. Keep praying! There have been miraclesgreat and small because of it, and there is still great need.
"The doctor called to give us a rundown on all of Tim's injuries and update us on his condition. When we told him we were on our way there, he felt sorry for us because, due to COVID-19, the hospital is only allowing a person to visit someone who is dying. Miracle number one is that Tim is alive! You couldn't know how very grateful to our Heavenly Father we are that we still have him!
"He was the passenger, and there was suddenly a minivan in the wrong lane coming right at them. So Tim's driver swerved to the left to avoid being hit, and the minion suddenly did the same, which resulted in full impact to Tim.
"It took a long time to uncoil him from the wreck, and both were taken but in separate ambulances to... [the hospital], which has a new ICU. Tim was immediately evaluated by a team of professionals who decided to fix the femur and the torn cartilage on his ear in surgery yesterday morning. They obviously tended to a lot of other details, but those were the ones that required surgery. They decided to let the broken collar bone heal on its own, but it will be hard for him to use crutches in the meantime. He got a rod and screws in his leg, and Dr. Winslow said that this will make it possible for him to walk sooner. He also said that it was fortunate that it was the mid portion of the femur.
"Tim is on oxygen because of some bruising in his lungs. His sternum is fractured but ribs are in tact, and it is a miracle his right lung didn't collapse. There was also concern for Coronasince he had been living in Berrien Springs and had the lung thing, so he was isolated and tested negative...
"He should be moved to a regular nursing room tomorrow. Other injuries include multiple severe broken bones in his face and head and of great concern, the right eye socket, which may be the cause of vision impairment for now. At first both pupils responded, but now that one doesn't. He also has some bruising of the brain, which caused CSF fluid to leak from his ear, so he has a drain in the spine to facilitate the leakage, as I understand it.
"His neck and spine are okay; he can move his feet and toes. His blood pressure is good ands pulse is steady, so no damage to the heart even though his breast bone is broken.
"Norm would probably like me to tell you that one reason this wasn't much worse, is because of the phenomenal dedication that Tim as to being as physically strong as his dad was at that age. It seems that all those muscles served as a barrier to some of the more delicate areas. He did have a laceration into the muscle of his right arm.
"We will continue to update as we are able. The doctor is very open to any questions we have, and I'm sure there will be many. Thank you again for your love and support."
