Ciao a tutte e tutti,
e poi Hilaria, io e, qualche volta, nostra figlia Nina.
Adesso no.
Adesso devo fermarmi.
Obrigado.

Hello everyone,
I’m writing because a black hole has opened in our lives.
It is not spectacular. It is not beautiful.
It is dark, silent, and it swallows.
I have been diagnosed with two liver tumors.
(You can read the medical report at the end of the photos in this post.)
We don’t yet know exactly what the treatment path will be, but we do know that I will have to stay in Lisbon for treatment and that I will be out of action for at least 3–4 months.
When something goes out of orbit, gravity changes.
And what once seemed stable begins to fall.
Around this black hole there is not emptiness.
There is life.
There are 4 donkeys, 2 horses, 7 dogs, 12 cats, a few wild ducks…
and then there are Hilaria, me, and sometimes our daughter Nina.
Fifteen mouths to feed, all within the same gravitational field.
Our income is very limited:
– a pension of about 600 euros,
– Hilaria’s small jobs, about 400 euros a month,
– and my occasional work, which will now stop for these 3–4 months.
But a black hole doesn’t reason in numbers.
It devours:
the hay,
the horses’ feed,
food for dogs and cats,
our own survival,
rent,
utility bills,
fuel,
the mechanic — because our car is an old wreck that breaks down constantly.
Until now, Luigi — that is, me — managed, with a few small jobs, to push the event horizon back, to keep this fragile balance together.
Now I can’t.
Now I have to stop.
And when you stop pushing, gravity wins.
That’s why we want to say something very concrete.
What we need is not “forever.”
We need autonomy to get through three or four months. ⏳
Just this time.
If we can cross this stretch, if things go well, we will be able to get back on our feet and find a new balance —
whether I recover, or whether I don’t.
The goal is, above all, that the rest of the tribe is not swallowed right now.
That’s why I’m writing: we need help to get through this period.
Every bit of help widens the orbit, every outstretched hand pushes the point of no return a little farther away. ✨
Anyone who reads this, who feels this gravity, and who can afford the luxury of helping us, please write to us her or in FB.
Obrigado.
Luigi
