On early Monday morning, September 7, I was awoken by Steve having a seizure, and then becoming unresponsive. He was taken to BVH by ambulance, where a CT scan was done and revealed a mass on his brain. He was life flighted, and then admitted to The James at OSU where an MRI was done and revealed a large Meningioma. He needed to have brain surgery to remove it, but he had aspirin in his system. Therefore, he was monitored for a few days at The James, and then sent home for the aspirin to be flushed from his body. He returned to The James on Tuesday, September 15th for brain surgery. The surgery revealed that the mass was the size of a baseball, and it appeared to be malignant, but we won’t have final results until we get the biopsy results back at his post op visit on September 28th. He has a long road ahead of him with recovery and possible treatments, if it comes back malignant. On top of that, he learned that his left foot is broken (an old injury), and he will need surgery to fuse together the bones on top of his foot, and have a plate and screws placed. This surgery can’t be done until three months out from his brain surgery. After foot surgery, he will be non weight bearing for three months. So he will be off work for at least six months and will have no income during this time. If you are able and willing to help financially, that would be greatly appreciated. If not, you can support him by sharing this and keeping him in your prayers. Thank you for your continued love, prayers, and support. Sincerely, Susan and Steve
