Wheels for Margaret
Donation protected
As many of you know, Margaret was diagnosed with secondary progressive MS in 2008. Unfortunately, during this past year she has lost the ability to walk and now requires a scooter to get around. The scooter has been a godsend, making it possible for Margaret to get back and forth from work on public transit. However, our biggest challenge now is that she isn't able to get into either of our two vehicles without a lot of effort. We have reached a point where it's time to get a van with ramp/wheelchair lift abilities, which is beyond our financial means.
We are asking for your help to raise $15,000 so we can put a decent down payment on a reliable, handicap friendly van that we can be self contained in to travel safely. This will help us get around locally and also make it possible for us to visit our families in Southern California and Arizona.
Our two older vehicles will also go up for sale to help us make this big change.
Before MS, Margaret was a very active outdoor person. MS is lockdown on top of lockdown, and she’s been cooped up in this house way too much. Let's get Margaret some wheels so that she can get out and about and continue to live an active life!
With love and gratitude,
Brooks and Margaret Masten
