Hello, my name is Maritza Marroquín. Three years ago due to unemployment and violence in Colombia I had to leave my country. There I had worked as a teacher for young people all my life, and through that experience I have had the satisfaction of seeing those kids move forward through their processes of development.
A few months ago I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, and a tumor that at 9.8 centimeters is compromising more and more other organs in my body. This is the reason why I am calling your heart and asking you for a donation which will be fruitful for my healing.
Medical treatment in the United States is very costly and is especially difficult if you don’t have medical insurance, which happens to be my case. As of now we’ve had to pay several hundred dollars in doctors appointments and almost two thousand dollars for exams. Thanks to the good will of our friends and relatives in Colombia and here around us in our small southeastern Arizona community, we have been able to pay the bills up to now. I endeavor to eat organically and as healthfully as possible.
I follow the wise advice of the Angels, use essential oils, and have faith in working upon my healing in natural ways. However, it seems that in order to shrink the tumor (which is painfully affecting my kidneys and my bladder) enough to potentially have it surgically removed, I will need a course of radiation. In the United States, we are looking at least at $25,000.00 to to complete radiation treatments. If chemotherapy is also recommended, which it seems it will be the case, the cost of treatment can rise up to $60,000.00. Thank you so much for your collaboration and generosity, Maritza

I’ve been doing some research about treatment in Colombia, and I found out that I can purchase private medical insurance for approximately $100.00 per month and be completely covered for radiation/chemotherapy and a hysterectomy ... with no waiting period. A friend in Colombia has very generously offered to host me and my son during the period of treatment, surgery, and recovery ... so my living expenses would consist only of purchasing supplements, organic food, transportation to and from treatments, cell phone service, etc. Therefore my living expenses would probably amount to no more than $400.00 per month … so for a grand total of approximately $500.00 a month I would be able to live — and access treatment — in Colombia, plus I would be able to see my son and be together at this difficult time.
Thanks so much for your generosity … much love and thankfulness, Maritza
