Support the recovery
Luke is a hard working lad from Ossett who throughout the Covid pandemic continued to work in order to keep his business running without any additional support.
He started his vehicle recovery business 18 months ago (L.H.G Recovery) which he ventured alone and built himself up from nothing.
After a challenging start to the year having his power tools stolen from his lockup had recently spent all of his income re buying the equipment he needs to keep working.
On Monday morning (27th of July) he arrived to work discovering all of his new equipment had been stolen again, this brought on a lot of stress and may have contributed to what occurred later that evening.
Throughout the day Luke had been in severe pain in his chest, he battled on through the day working until he physically could no longer move. We Immediately rushed him to Dewsbury A&E where he had multiple tests such as scans, x-rays and heart monitor to find out he had a collapsed lung and internal bleeding.
Luke had a tube inserted into his lung in attempt to drain fluid but resulted in further complications (excessive bleeding in his chest). In the early hours of Tuesday morning he was rushed to ST Jame's hospital in Leeds for urgent surgery. They found his lung filled with blood clots which they removed successfully and also stopped the internal bleeding. He was then taken to intensive care.
He's now recovering but has been told he won't be able to work for 6-8 weeks.
We're asking for the support of the community to help this young hard worker to stay in business whilst recovering.
Contributions will go towards restarting his business when he gets back on his feet through buying new tools and moving to a safer and secure lockup.
As everyone in Ossett will know, friends and work acquaintances Luke has a massive heart and would do anything to help anybody. This will be a massive help to him. Thanks to everyone who has checked up on him to see his recovery progress and we will keep you all updated.
