Elefly; A Website for Artists

Donation protected

Hello, my name is Aletheia, and I am designing a website for digital artists and content creators, however I am running short on funds needed to complete the project. The website’s development and design are well under way, but due to unforeseen legal expenses the project has gone over-budget. Your donations will go towards paying for backend coding for the website, business insurance, and legal fees.

The website is called Elefly and is the accumulation of dreams I’ve had for years. For half of my life, I have been chronically ill; battling fibromyalgia and a myriad of other health issues. During my time sick in bed or sitting for hours in a doctor’s office, art was one of the few things that consistently remained to comfort me.

I was finally able to obtain a more conclusive diagnosis two years ago, which helped me take steps towards improving my health, though getting back into the saddle of a “normal life” has been an uphill battle. By creating this website, I hope to provide artists around the world a healthy space to share and produce their work.

In short, I aim to build a better internet for creators around the world. If this dream inspires you, please consider donating a dollar or two, or share with a friend.

Thank you for reading this far, it means a lot!

If you’re still skeptical about the need for this platform, I’ll provide my reasoning for “Why Elefly”; why this platform is so badly needed by all artists trying to promote on the internet.

Q: Why Elefly?

A: Most artists try to juggle three or more social media platforms for promoting their content. Elefly aims to allow artists a way to sell, promote, and share their creations easily. Something that, as I am writing this, does not exist.

Q: What about Artstation, or DeviantArt? Aren’t those websites for artists?

A: Yes they are! And while Artstation is a great website, it’s mainly for artists who already work in the art industry. Hobbyists and beginner artists feel daunted by the professional nature of the site. DeviantArt, while at one time was a hotspot for digital artists, has deteriorated in quality and is now mostly used by artists of… let us say, ill repute.

Q: Will Elefly provide any special features?

A: Yes, a few features of Elefly include: the ability to buy and sell digital art directly on the website, a virtual currency, and user advertising/the ability to promote art directly on Elefly, displacing the need for 3rd party ads!

Q: When will production be completed?

A: Our beta release date is tentatively set in December and if this fundraiser is successful, I can focus all my efforts into production instead of worrying about financing the project.

Q: I like the concept, but I’m not a big fan of the lilac/pink colors. Will there be a dark mode?

A: Yes! There will be a dark mode for the website, and we are working on providing alternate colors for user pages. If you aren’t a fan of pastels, you will have other options to choose from!
