Hello everyone,
If you are someone who is close to me, you know two distinct things about me: the first being my love for writing and deep desire to work as a journalist, and my, at times, equally deep trouble I have when it comes time to ask for help.
On the evening of September 24, I was robbed at gunpoint on my way to visit my parents. The individuals who robbed me took, among other things including my keys and my phone, my laptop. On that laptop were countless drafts, story ideas, and the like. Of course, the only thing that truly matters is that all that was lost were personal possessions, and not something more irreplaceable.
That being said, those of you who know me also know that I'm not exactly made of money, and replacing a computer can be expensive. The price point I have is for the cost of the laptop that I will have to purchase so that I can continue working, and continue doing what I love. I by no means expect each dollar to be recouped, but I'm reaching out to all of you as friends, family, and people who maybe want to have another black voice at the writer's table, to throw what you can my way.
I am eternally grateful for any and all contributions, and honestly, am merely glad that those of you who have enjoyed my work continue to put faith in me and my ability everytime you click on a piece with my name on it.
