My name is Cheryl and the Pownells are very dear friends of ours. This past weekend Gary was involved in a terrible motorcycle accident.

Gary sustained a major injury to his left leg that has resulted in the loss of his left leg to save his life. His leg has been amputated mid thigh and he is handling that news well. He also is dealing with bruised lungs, bruised heart and a punctured lung. He does also have a small fracture in his left wrist. Some scrapes and bruises over his body.

He's facing this challenge head on with more grit and determination than anyone I've ever met! He isn't allowing this to hold him back! This young man is a fighter for sure!

His prosthesis is going to be quite expensive because it will need to be military grade due to where his amputation is.

With missing work and hospital bills that are sure to come in we can do our part by donating any amount your feel inclined to!

I've truly never been in the presence of someone like Gary who has made the decision that most adults couldn't make! He's moving forward and accepting this new life and navigating it like a BOSS! Please help if you can! This family would never ask for help but are one of the first families to jump in when others need help!
