Hey, my name is Angie Mendoza. On Wednesday February 8th, a fire struck my family. The fire started at around 8 am, my mom was the only one home and was able to get out thankfully, but sadly our family cat, Castiel, was left behind. We inquired all day keeping our hope that maybe we could find him, and that maybe we would still be able to retrieve some of our belongings. We maintained hope until the very end, but Feb 9th at 12 am, our building was demolished in front of our very eyes. It was a traumatic experience, especially for my mom who brought us here from Ecuador about 10 years ago. Seeing the look in her eyes after everything she worked hard for all those years go down the drain, was a moment i'll never forget.

I know the most important thing is that we are alive and well, but theres necessary things that we lost, including the life of our cat. Anything can help if its within your means, we appreciate it

Hola, mi nombre es Angie Mendoza. Este miércoles, Febrero 8, un incendio afectó a mi familia. El fuego comenzó al rededor de las 8am, mi mamá fue la única en casa y gracias a Dios pudo salir completamente sana. Pero nuestro gato, Castiel, se quedó dentro. Preguntamos todo el día manteniendo la esperanza de que tal vez pudiéramos encontrarlo y que tal vez aún pudiéramos recuperar algunas de nuestras pertenencias. Mantuvimos la esperanza hasta el final, pero el 9 de febrero a las 12 am, nuestro edificio fue demolido frente a nuestros propios ojos. Fue una experiencia traumática, especialmente para mi mamá, quien nos trajo aquí desde Ecuador hace unos 10 años. Ver la mirada en sus ojos después de que todo por lo que trabajó durante todos esos años se derrumbó fue un momento que nunca olvidaré.

Sé que lo más importante es que estamos sanos y salvos, pero hay cosas necesarias que perdimos, incluyendo la vida de nuestro gato. Cualquier cosa puede ayudar si está dentro de sus posibilidades, lo apreciamos
