Help Allan Gutierrez Heal After Bridge Accident
Donation protected
Allan Gutierrez was walking his bike on the sidewalk across the Hallandale Beach Boulevard Bridge when about halfway through the East span of the bridge, the guardrails went down and the bridge went up. Allan tried to hold onto the bike as the bridge went up, but eventually, he and the bike slid down towards the opening.
At that moment, Allan had to make a split decision: land in the opening knowing it would close on him or try to hold on to the rail. Allan gripped the rail until his arms and hands finally gave way and he fell into the dark Stranahan River.
Fortunately, after falling into the water, Allan was able to swim to safety, where he yelled for help until rescuers were able to find him.
Allan is currently hospitalized and will eventually be sent to an in-patient rehab facility. He suffered tremendous injuries, including broken ribs, a collapsed lung, ruptured disc and multiple spinal fractures.
At this time, we don't know what the future holds for Allan, but it will be costly and we would appreciate any and all assistance.
