Hola querida comunidad,

Nunca imaginé tener que escribir algo así en redes sociales, pero lo hago porque mi mamá lo necesita y porque ya no podemos solos.

Mi mamá tiene cáncer, y desde hace cuatro meses el IMSS no ha podido darle su tratamiento. La falta de lenalidomida ha hecho que su salud se deteriore muy rápido: ahora tiene anemia severa, dolores profundos en los huesos y ha perdido fuerza hasta para comer, dormir o moverse sin ayuda. Verla así ha sido una de las cosas más dolorosas que hemos vivido como familia.

Hemos intentado cubrir el medicamento por nuestra cuenta, pero su costo es muy alto y simplemente ya no podemos alcanzarlo. Aun así, seguimos luchando cada día para darle lo que necesita, porque ella siempre ha estado para nosotros con su cariño y apoyo incondicional.

Hoy, con mucha humildad, les pedimos apoyo y acompañamiento.

Cualquier cantidad, por pequeña que parezca, nos acerca a poder comprar el tratamiento que puede darle a mi mamá un poco de estabilidad, menos dolor y la posibilidad de recuperar algo de su vida.

I never imagined having to write something like this on social media, but I’m doing it because my mom needs it and because we can’t get through this on our own.

My mom has cancer, and for the past four months the IMSS (social security in Mexico) has not been able to provide her treatment. The lack of lenalidomide has caused her health to deteriorate very quickly: she now has severe anemia, deep bone pain, and has lost the strength to eat, sleep, or move without help. Seeing her like this has been one of the most painful experiences our family has ever faced.

We have tried to cover the medication on our own, but the cost is extremely high and we simply can’t afford it anymore. Even so, we keep fighting every day to give her what she needs, because she has always been there for us with her unconditional love and support.

Today, with great humility, we are asking for your support and solidarity.

Any amount, no matter how small it may seem, brings us closer to being able to buy the treatment that can give my mom a bit of stability, less pain, and the possibility of regaining some of her life.
