Help Lindsey Get Medical Treatment

Donation protected
I'm Melodia and I'm raising money on behalf of my daughter Lindsey.

Lindsey has been suffering from what the doctors believe to be Cyclical Vomiting Syndrome although the diagnosis is not certain.

Her first episode occurred in the late summer of 2010 and landed her in the emergency room, dehydrated and extremely ill. After several days, the vomiting subsided and she was released only to return a few weeks later with a similar condition. By September of that year (just a few months after her first hospital stay) the doctors removed her gallbladder thinking they'd found the cause of her problem. Unfortunately, that wasn't the answer.

Since then Lindsey has been in and out of the hospital with an 'episode' every few months. The episodes vary in length but are predictable in nature. They start with intense abdominal pain that makes eating or regular functioning practically impossible. Soon after, the vomiting starts and doesn't stop until there is medical intervention. IV's are required to hydrate her and pain killers help to dull the pain and allow her to rest until she is able to keep food down and strong enough to be able to go home.

While in the hospital, she misses out on work and is away from her family which consists of her partner Carter and her three year old daughter, Chloe.

There are no clear answers about how to manage the illness or keep the episodes at bay. Lindsey suffers a great amount of anxiety because the triggers of the episodes are unclear and she lives with the constant threat that something will send her into another cycle.

We are desperate to find answers that will restore Lindsey's health and her quality of life.

There is a medical facility in Mexico named Sanoviv that is renowned for their holistic approach to wellness and their ability to find solutions not commonly found by traditional Western medicine. The funds we raise with this campaign will send Lindsey to Sanoviv where we are hopeful that the extensive testing and alternative care of this facility can get to the root of the issue causing Lindsey so much trouble or, at the very least, give her practical actions she can take to better manage her condition and improve her overall well-being.

Any contribution you can make on Lindsey's behalf would be so greatly appreciated. She does not have medical insurance and is already burdened with an abundance of medical bills from past emergency room visits. Your support would mean she can get the medical assessments and treatments that she needs, be educated on how to best take care of herself and get back to living her life. Thank you so very much for your gift!
