As many of you know my nephew was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in June of 2014. He did not respond to the standard treatment and had to have a stem cell transplant in December 2014. Jay stayed very positive and brave through out his long and extremely difficult treatment and continued to work and live his life the best he could. He even proposed to the love of his life, Molly in Septemper 2014 and she said yes!. She has been so loving and supportive of Jason throughout his battle. She is a designer but was in between positions when Jason became ill and decided to waitress during his 6 months of chemo to be more available. In Febuary 2015 doctors told Jay he was in remission. They were so happy that this was behind them and began to start to make plans for their wedding. Last week Jason had a Pet Scan that shows some activity. He is scheduled to meet the surgen Monday for another biopsy. Molly hadn't been feeling well lately and she also had a doctor appointment last week. It is with a broken heart that I say that Molly has cervical cancer and is going to need chemo and radiation. We are all shocked and devastated by this news. Molly has no medical insurance and will also be unable to work during her treatment. Molly's family lives in Oklahoma and they are considering whether it would be best for her to go home for treatment as Jay may be hospitalized for another month and would be unable to care for her. They are both devastated, heartbroken and terrified. Last week they were thinking about their wedding and this week the have all of this to deal with its unbelieveable to us all. They are 28 and 29 years old and could never have prepared for this emotionally or financially. I am starting this with the hopes of easing some of the medical financial burden so that they can focus all their energies on getting well. Thank you for kindness and all the prayers.
