Dans les terres baignées par les marées de l’Atlantique, là où les pins rencontrent les vagues et où les histoires se transmettent en chanson, résonne la voix singulière de La famille LeBlanc. Originaire du Nouveau-Brunswick, au cœur de l’Acadie, ce groupe familial incarne l’âme d’un peuple qui chante pour ne pas oublier. Installée sur une ferme ancestrale du fond de la Baie des Chaleurs, la famille cultive un mode de vie en quasi‑autosuffisance — verger historique, poulailler, vache, cave à fromage — où traditions, simplicité et transmission forment le fil conducteur de leur quotidien. Leur musique naît dans ce décor vivant, nourrie par une mémoire familiale profonde et un patrimoine immatériel qu’ils s’emploient à préserver, à partager et à réinventer.

La famille interprète des airs du 19ᵉ siècle enracinés dans la tradition acadienne et celtique, des trésors musicaux qui tracent un véritable pont allant de la Louisiane à l’Irlande. Les trois filles jouent du concertina, du whistle et du violon, et participent activement à une nouvelle étape essentielle du groupe : la composition de pièces originales inspirées de la tradition. Cette démarche créative prend aujourd’hui une ampleur nouvelle, et le prochain album sera majoritairement composé de leurs propres pièces, tissant un dialogue vibrant entre héritage musical et création contemporaine.

La mère prête sa voix aux plus anciennes ballades acadiennes, entremêlée avec celles de ses filles dans des harmonies riches et sensibles. Le père, Robin LeBlanc, multi‑instrumentiste, accompagne au piano avec des arrangements qui mêlent baroque, jazz et musique traditionnelle. Héritier d’une longue lignée de violoneux, il joue également le violon dans le style acadien. Depuis plus de vingt ans, il sillonne l’Acadie à la recherche de vieux airs traditionnels. Avec sa famille, il remet ce répertoire au goût du jour grâce à des arrangements modernes tout en préservant la couleur propre à chaque région. Leur répertoire dépasse maintenant les trois cents pièces.

La musique de La famille LeBlanc voyage largement, portée par une présence scénique chaleureuse et un profond attachement à l’héritage acadien. Le groupe offre en moyenne une soixantaine de spectacles par année, que ce soit aux États‑Unis, sur les routes du Canada d’un océan à l’autre, ou dans le cadre d’une tournée francophone soutenue par Musicaction. Ils ont également bénéficié d’une subvention du Conseil des arts du Canada, qui leur a permis de travailler avec un metteur en scène et d’élever significativement la qualité artistique et scénique de leurs spectacles. Leur présence lors d’une vitrine du ROSEQ a mené à une tournée de dix‑neuf spectacles, renforçant leur ancrage dans le réseau professionnel des arts de la scène. Leur parcours les a également conduits jusqu’à Terre‑Neuve pour leur nomination aux prix de musique folk canadienne (PMFC-CFMA) dans la catégorie "Jeune(s) artiste(s) de l'année". Sur la scène internationale, ils ont joué en Irlande et en France, affirmant la place de la musique acadienne sur des scènes où se rencontrent les cultures du monde. En 2025, le quotidien français Le Figaro met en lumière leur travail, soulignant la vitalité de leur démarche entre tradition et création.

Le groupe attire depuis plusieurs années l’attention de réalisateurs et des médias. Le documentaire « Une façon d’être ensemble » de Francine Hébert (2020) présente leur quotidien musical et familial. Après la viralité d’une vidéo partagée par le blogueur anglophone The Music Man, ils sont approchés par des productions comme America’s Got Talent et La France a un incroyable talent, en plus de faire la une du magazine Folklore Québec en mars 2021. Leurs albums Trois jolies demoiselles (2020) et Perdrais‑je mon temps… (2023) jouissent d’un important rayonnement, leur valant notamment deux nominations aux ECMA dans la catégorie Album traditionnel de l’année. Cette année, ils sont également invités à se produire lors du Award Show, marquant une nouvelle reconnaissance importante de leur travail.

In the lands shaped by the tides of the Atlantic—where pine forests meet the waves and stories are carried forward in song—resounds the unmistakable voice of La famille LeBlanc. Hailing from New Brunswick, in the heart of Acadia, this family group embodies the spirit of a people who sing so they may never forget. Living on an ancestral farm tucked deep in the Bay of Chaleur, they cultivate a life of near self‑sufficiency—historic orchard, chicken coop, cow, cheese cellar—where tradition, simplicity, and transmission guide their everyday rhythm. Their music is born from this living landscape, nourished by a deep family memory and an intangible heritage they strive to preserve, share, and reinvent.

The family performs 19th‑century tunes rooted in Acadian and Celtic traditions—musical treasures that form a bridge stretching from Louisiana to Ireland. The three daughters play concertina, whistle, and fiddle, and are now at the heart of a new creative chapter for the group: composing original pieces inspired by tradition. This artistic shift is gaining momentum, and their next album will feature mostly original compositions, weaving a vibrant dialogue between inherited repertoire and contemporary creation.

The mother lends her voice to some of the oldest Acadian ballads, blending with her daughters’ in rich, sensitive harmonies. The father, Robin LeBlanc, a multi‑instrumentalist, accompanies on piano with arrangements that intertwine baroque, jazz, and traditional influences. A descendant of a long line of fiddlers, he also plays the fiddle in the Acadian style. For more than twenty years, he has traveled throughout Acadia in search of old traditional tunes. Their journey has also taken them to Newfoundland for their nomination at the Canadian Folk Music Awards (CFMA) in the “Young Performer(s) of the Year” category.
