Hello! Whether you are a family member, friend, or complete stranger, thank you for visiting our page! Let me start by telling you a little about us:
My husband and I are the proud parents of two adorably sweet, rambunctious boys: Jj, who is 5 and just started kindergarten, and Jaxon, who is 2 and feels it is his calling to climb on literally everything. I am also 6-months pregnant with boy/girl twins. Jason Romeo and Ivy Lynn are scheduled to meet the world on Dec 30th and I am doing everything I physically can to keep them in the oven until that date! Unfortunately, this has been a very difficult pregnancy for me. I have had hyperemesis gravidarum (excessive vomiting) since 8 weeks and kidney problems since 12 weeks. I have been admitted to the hospital twice for multiple days at a time and have visited the ER almost weekly. A couple weeks ago, I underwent a procedure to put a stint into my kidney to hopefully ease some of the pain. Unfortunately, the procedure was not successful and possibly could be causing more problems then it is doing good. Although I have not officially been put on bed rest, I need to keep my physical activity as low as possible in order to prevent pain and bleeding of my kidney stint.
Fortunately, the babies don't appear to be phased by any of this in the slightest and are both developing perfectly. For this we feel blessed and are immensely thankful.
Through it all, we have managed to stay positive and excited about our growing family. However, the reality is that everything has a cost--in addition to our everyday expenses (rent, food, daycare, gas, etc.), we now have medical bills that have rapidly snowballed to almost $10,000 already. In an effort to make ends meet, we have adopted an "essentials only" approach with our expenses and even downsized to one car that barely fits the four of us. As you'd expect, the unexpected financial burden has added a lot of stress to an already stressful situation. Many have expressed a desire to help and though I'm not totally comfortable asking for it, at this point we really need it.
So here it is: I'm hoping the kindness of others will help us not only keep our heads above water, but will help us get back on track for when these little ones actually do arrive. Anything helps and we are eternally thankful for your generosity. Thank you for taking the time to read our story.
