Help a QTPOC couple with urgent moving costs!!

Donation protected
Hello everyone, my name is Xochitl and as many of you know I initially began this GoFundMe in June of 2020 in an effort to be united with my long distance girlfriend of 3 years so that we could both escape abusive and traumatizing living situations

However, due to the increasing severity of and toll the pandemic would take in limiting both of us thus affecting our physical/mental health as disabled people, and the reality of the housing crisis in California we unfortunately had to resort to using the funds donated to us as a means to survive and keep ourselves afloat during this time. We were practically unable to save any of the money for fear of food insecurity, sudden costs from medical bills, emergencies and general life expenses after we both lost our jobs.

This eventually led to a chain of events that took place in and around the fall/winter of 2020
Around mid November I came in contact with someone who said that they were willing and able to help my partner and I find secure housing, they drove me to California so we could be united. The plan was that we'd all drive back together to my home state in order to make an opportunity we had lined up possible.
We left to go pick my partner up around mid December.
While on the drive to California, miscommunication started to form a rift between the three of us and by the time we got there, there was obvious tension. We carried on and tried to resolve the issue as best we could through communication but eventually a disagreement and argument after a mental health episode led to everything reaching a boiling point to which there was no return. Racist and ableist comments toward my black partner were spat out along with the assumption that they were armed and dangerous despite them having no history with such things. At the time we were very mentally vulnerable and more than anything we were dependent on this person for safety and survival. After that day, another incident in which this person continued to be unempathetic, hostile and fully dismissive toward my partner, disregarding their limitations and disability led to them leaving in the middle of the night without telling us.
The next morning, After a dispute about our belongings that were left in their car, they forcibly urged me to drive back with them to my home state without my partner, thus leaving them stranded and houseless. I refused to leave my partner behind, and kept requesting that my partner and I get our things back.
Later that day they called the police on us, they claimed it was just to oversee the return of said items, but they knowingly exposed a black queer person and a trans woman of color to the violence of the police force. They went far enough as to lie to the police saying that my black partner was dangerous and armed,  and that they feared for their life even though my partner was never once physically hostile nor did they show any signs of even wanting to be.This put both of us in life threatening danger and was traumatizing, especially for my partner who has dealt with anti black police violence before and because of this has been reliving these highly traumatic events everyday.

Ever since then, we've been stranded here in California to fend for ourselves in an insecure toxic living situation with my partners long time abuser. We are in a dilapidated house with little to no working electricity (surviving off of the use of a portable generator and one working power strip shared between all of us living here) , low access to running water and run down barely functional appliances. We lost all of our savings and since we were left in California with no way of returning, aprox $4,300 of the money we had going to housing was taken from us with no aid nor ability for us to get it back. Essentially we were left with practically nothing to survive on. All of this has been taking a massive toll on our mental health, trying to survive and make the most of it while attempting at healing and recovering from the traumatic events that took place and trying to come up with next steps which is why we've been mostly silent in regards to updating you all on our situation.

That being said, after months of uncertainty i am happy to announce that theres been a breakthrough in regards to a housing opportunity for us. Without going into too much detail so as to respect our privacy, We have a chance to secure housing by the end of the year.
It is important to us now more than ever to be able to have a place to live and heal and grow together since frankly *everything* that has happened in the past year greatly affected us and we need your help in order to make it possible.

Every donation to this GoFundMe going forward will be used to cover moving costs and expenses as we adjust to our new living situation and try to achieve stability. We are raising the funding goal to recover the money that was lost and to secure our housing by mid December 2021. As previously stated we must acquire the funds needed by the end of the year in order to make this opportunity a reality which makes this an urgent matter and plea for aid

With every share and donation; you will saving and improving the lives of fellow human beings who want nothing more than  to live secure happy lives with each other in peace and love

Thank you all so much for your help consideration and continued support.
