Remember walking by the homeless person and saying, "That could be me"? Well, that could be me.
As you may (or may not) know, I was laid off in May 2018. I haven't been able to find a job. Believe me, I am trying. For example, this month (January 2020) I have completed 54 applications and last month (December 2019) I completed 153 applications. I can go back through my history, but it is not an exaggeration to say I have applied for hundreds of jobs. Yet I remain positive and hopeful.
When you have no job, you have no income. Plain and simple. Without income, I have been unable to pay my rent for a significant amount of time. I am alright and my roommate has been very helpful in keeping the lights on and us fed.
But the property management company that runs my building (my landlord) has run out of patience with my job search. I am currently scheduled to be evicted on January 31. So there is a massive urgency here. Your money will be used to help me not be evicted.
I live in Central Harlem in New York City. It is an awesome neighborhood, one of the best I've ever lived in. My apartment is awesome. I've called it home for years. I want to continue to call it home.
If you can help I can't promise repayment in the short term, and that kills me. If you can't help, I get it. In either case, I would appreciate it if you would share this with your network.
If I've helped you in the past (by being a friend, by buying you a drink, by helping you make a sale, by just being there), please consider giving Schultzie a hand.
In advance I would like to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!
PS - There is no amount too small! If this gets crowdfunded right, every $1 and $2 and $5 WILL help! Thank you!
