Build us up!

As we get closer and closer to opening our doors we need materials. Like lumber type. And rugs. And screws. And lamps... We are in a warehouse but need to divide space so that our store feels more like a store. Donations in any amount will help us achieve this. The rest is coming from our personal pockets. That is how much we believe in our mission. Read about us here:
Our Village Closet is a dedicated team of volunteers, passionately committed to supporting the foster/adopt community, working together to provide Resource Families in Sonoma County with immediate and necessary material support when a child is placed with them.
Our goal is to ensure that a Resource Family has the essential goods and materials required to ensure a child has adequate food, clothing, and other life basics to create a safe, healthy home environment for those children during the emergency foster transition.
------
When you step into foster care, support is needed on so many levels, with unknowns around every corner. You quickly learn that not only does it take a village, but also you are now part of a village. Our Village Closet is an ongoing service to provide supplies for Resource Families with items they may need within the first days or weeks of welcoming new children into their homes. In foster care, the needs are great, but we can help meet the tangible, physical needs of children in care.
From families. For families.
Our mission is to collect items and receive donations from clothing, shoes, diapers, toys, books, to school supplies, strollers, and so much more. There is no “season” in foster care, and things change in an instant. Sometimes this leaves families very little time to gather items and be ready to welcome children from hard places. This is ongoing. This is a community effort- and with help from our own village, we will keep the shelves stocked, hearts full, and support ready.
