Bob's Nursing Care

Bob is married to my sister, Rhonda, and they own their own business - a dessert cafe. They did not have any children; their dessert business has been their life. Bob was diagnosed with Melanoma in 2011 and for the past year has been fighting metastatic Melanoma. Last week he had bleeding on his brain which required surgery to relieve the tremendous pain that he was in. However, the surgery also confirmed that the Melanoma has spread to his brain. He is now receiving hospice care at home.

My sister needs to continue to work every day at their dessert business and cannot afford to close the business or be away from it to give Bob the daily care that he needs. Not only  is she the heart, soul and brains of the small company, she is their sole support.  Bob cannot be left alone and their insurance does not cover skilled nursing care on an ongoing, regular basis nor does it cover room and board in a hospice facility.  

My family and I are unable to provide Bob the continual care that he needs for this last chapter in his life journey.  He needs a nurse to be with him while my sister is at work and may also need nursing care during the night in the near future.
