Tammy's Fight Against Sarcoma
Tammy discovered a lump in her right calf earlier this year that grew quickly. After a biopsy she found out it was soft tissue sarcoma and went to MDACC in Houston where she began chemo. After one round the tumor erupted from the leg and chemo had to be stopped so they could surgically remove the tumor and do a skin graft to cover the area. She then went home for 6 weeks to allow the surgical site and skin graft donor site to heal properly.
She went back to MDACC in Houston August 15th to begin radiation of the leg post surgery however they repeated her CT scan of her lungs and found 4 nodules on her right side. They performed a biopsy and we are waiting for the results. But her doctor did say there was a 90% chance that it is in fact sarcoma.
So now more than likely she is looking at chemo through the end of the year and into January. She has not been able to work since May. Her income contributed to the household bills and now her husband is having to carry the load alone. On top of that the expenses of staying out of town are adding up and she has a large bill to cover at the hospital. Any help is greatly appreciated.
