Help Kya Run Again ❤️
Hi friends, family, and kind strangers,
My name is Leo, a chronically ill, disabled, man living with Multiple Sclerosis. I’m reaching out for help to support my beloved emotional support animal, Kya. She’s an 11-year-old sweetheart who has been by my side through thick and thin, providing comfort, companionship, and unconditional love through some of my hardest times.
On June 1st, Kya suffered a torn cruciate ligament—the canine equivalent of a human ACL tear. Since the injury, she’s been unable to walk on her hind leg and is now limping on just three legs. She's currently on strict kennel rest and pain medication, but it’s taking a toll on her spirit. Kya’s always been an active, joyful dog. Her favorite thing in the whole world is chasing tennis balls at the park—something she hasn’t been able to do since the injury.
Why We Need Help
The surgery to repair her leg (TPLO surgery) costs $8,000. In order to schedule it, we need to put $4,000 down, and the remaining $4,000 must be paid when she’s discharged. It’s a heavy financial burden, and unfortunately, I can't afford it on my own.
This surgery is the only way for Kya to regain her mobility and full enjoyment of life with play, walks, and dignity in her senior years.
How You Can Help
Any amount—big or small—gets us closer to our goal and brings Kya one step closer to healing. If you can’t contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser with your network would mean the world to us.
Kya has given me so much love over the years. Now, I’m hoping we can rally together to give her the care she deserves.
With deep gratitude,
Leo & Kya
