My wonderful, loving husband and best friend died on March 8, 2015. He suffered a completely unexpected brain aneurysm in our bedroom. We have 4 kids, ages 13, 9, 6 and 3. I'm a server making less than $5.00 an hour and he was a full time, stay at home Dad who was waiting for disability due to having a corneal transplant. Although he was not the biological father of our 3 oldest children, they considered him their Dad and he adored them. He was only 32 years old. My absolutely amazing  coworkers and employer raised $2000 for the funeral but even that doesn't cover the total. I have missed almost a month of work due to issues with the kids, dealing with my own depression and grief, and the funeral and because of not working enough hours, the state has denied my application for daycare assistance which means I have to pay $400 a week for daycare for our 3 youngest kids. When my husband  was alive I was able to work a lot of hours and money wasn't really an issue. All of our savings went to the funeral and living expenses and now there's nothing left and nothing coming in. I'm back at work but I can only work weekdays now and it's barely enough to feed us, much less pay for anything else. I'm hoping to raise enough money to pay for daycare and bills until I can accumulate enough hours at work to apply for daycare assistance again. Our 3 year old has finally adjusted to school and if I can't pay for it, I'll have to quit work and pull him out of school. He has been through so much loss that I want to keep him in his school where he is comfortable. Someone from the state told me to quit my job and go on welfare and then they would pay for the daycare but I  can't do that. We just need a little help to get back on track. My husband was an incredible man and we are so broken without him. It would be a godsend to be able to stop worrying about the financial crisis and focus on our emotional crisis and try to heal a little.
