Alexander's Heart Surgery

Hello, my name is Rose Wilson-Shock and I am raising funds to help cover out of pocket medical expenses, travel, lodging and food for my son Alexander. Alex was born with a congenital heart defect which was discovered when he was 4 and resulted in him having open heart surgery at 5. For the last ten years he has been healthy but his latest cardiolcardiology checkup showed he needs open heart surgery again because he has a severe left vertricular outflow obstruction. This means we need to travel to the University of Michigan to have the surgery which involves plane tickets, hotels and at least 4 weeks of work for me to take him and help him during his recovery. Alex is a smart, funny, amazing teenager who is on the spectrum and has grown considerably in the last 10 yrs. In his free time he likes to play on his computer, annoy his brother, look up random facts (apparently Alberta has no rats) and read online comics such as Hardcore Leveling Warrior. His progress and attitude amaze me and I am overwhelmed by his courage. I consider myeslf blessed to have him for a son and there is nothing more important to my family and I than for him to be healthy.
