As most of you now know, my best friend in the whole entire world has been bravely fighting stage 4 lung cancer with incredible strength and grace. She has never touched a cigarette in her life but has been dealt this shitty hand to endure. After countless treatments and endless fighting and determination, she has been given a second chance at life and has been approved for a lung transplant.

The transplant will take place in Chicago, where she has been since October 19, and where her and John will have to live near the hospital for at least a year for recovery, ongoing monitoring, and rehab. That means major expenses…housing, travel, food, and medical costs…all while she will be unable to work, obviously.

Hobie has always been the kind of person who shows up for everyone else. The one who makes you laugh when things are hard, who gives her heart to her friends and family without hesitation. If anyone knows anything about Hobie, she has the determination to do everything on her own and would never ask anyone for anything so now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
