None of the members in my family expected it when we learned my mother had been infected with Covid-19 in the early weeks of February and within days, it had spread to the rest of us (My father, my sister, and I). We hunkered down and quarantined like the rest of the individuals who had contracted Covid-19 but my mother and father worsened in ways that made me feel I had no other choice but to get them hospitalized for them to have any chances at getting better. My sister and I, luckily, were able to quarantine and recover at home. It took a few days before I received my first call from the hospital about my father and his worsening condition followed by another about my mother and hers. My father passed away on March 6th, 2021 from his struggle with Covid-19. The following few days hit me hard as I realized that my sister and I were not prepared for this worst case scenario as my mother was still in the hospital fighting for her life while on sedation and on the ventilator, leaving me the luxury of having to find a funeral home for my father (Which, luckily, was paid for by my job) amongst other things. Most of our family, save for my cousin and his wife, are in Malaysia and unable to help support us in this time of need. Especially now after learning my mother isn't getting better while, yet again, leaving me with the decision of putting her on comfort care. My sister and I are not ready both mentally and financially to take on whatever may happen within the next few days/weeks/even months. Any donation received will be used to fund any basic living necessities such as food, rent, bills, etc, as well as the funeral charges in the likely event that my mother also passes. Any and all amounts will be appreciated. 

I realize that we are not the only family going through something like this and I wish all those other individuals and families the best as they deal with Covid-19. I hope it all ends soon so we can all go back to our lives without losing anymore of our loved ones.
