We have found a potential foster for Marshall who can also provide training. We will be using all funds generated here to cover the costs of the long-boarding, and I will get him back once we are able to move to a new home. We are still working out the total cost of the boarding but I will provide updates as I know more.

Save Marshall & Help Us Find a Safe Home

Hi, my name is Jalen, and this is my best friend, Marshall.

Marshall is a rescue I adopted nearly two years ago from the Olathe Animal Shelter, and since then, he’s been my rock, my joy, and my family. Unfortunately, we are now facing an impossible and heartbreaking situation: my apartment complex is forcing me to either rehome Marshall or pay over $6,000 to break my lease so we can find a new place to live.

Marshall is sweet, goofy, and incredibly loving with people. He’s obsessed with tennis balls, lives for tug-of-war, and never turns down a cuddle session. But Marshall struggles with dog reactivity, meaning he doesn’t do well around other dogs. After a recent incident with another dog at our complex, management told me Marshall can no longer stay here.

I’ve spent countless hours reaching out to local shelters, rescues, and family members to find a safe foster or new home for Marshall, but all have been full, out of area, or unable to help. The heartbreaking reality is that if I can’t find a solution, I could face eviction — and the unthinkable option of euthanasia has even been suggested. I refuse to give up on him without a fight.

That’s why I’m turning to you for help.

I’m asking for donations to help cover the cost of breaking our lease and securing a new home — somewhere with a yard where Marshall can thrive, without the stress of living near other dogs. Every dollar raised will go directly toward:

• Lease termination fees ($6,000)

• Deposit and moving expenses to a pet-friendly home with a yard

• Any emergency boarding, if needed

I know times are tough, and asking for help feels humbling — but Marshall is my family. He saved me as much as I saved him, and I can’t imagine life without him.
