Friends,
I am combining my love of running and love of singing to raise money for the St Andrews Cathedral Music Foundation Fund. I'm using the Blackmores Half Marathon on Sunday 15th Sep as my fundraising event!
What makes this run so challenging ?
Well, for the first time, I'll be taking Alex (my son) the whole way in his pram - a combined weight of c. 25kg's! I'm aiming for sub 2 hours. Not an easy challenge by any stretch - and certainly worth donating big money for a cause that's close to my heart - Choral Music!

Why am I raising money for the St Andrew Cathedral Music Foundation Fund?
For those of you that know me, you will know my passion for singing, music and the choir. The St Andrew's Choir preserves the ancient tradition of choral music and faithfully singing praises to the Glory of God. St Andrew's choir is the oldest continuous runningn music group in the Southern Hemisphere and turned 200 this year. Furthermore, it is because of the musicianship and experience in St Andrew's Choir that has enabled me to serve the community in such events as:
- Running the Westpac Christmas Choir in 2017 and 2018
- Arranging and playing music at many of my friends weddings!
- Playing at community carols (for the last 10 years+)
- Leading church music at my local church in Abbotsford, for the last 5+ years
Europe Choir Tour
In Dec 2019, St Andrew's Choir, as part of its 200th anniversay, will be travelling to Europe to sing to the Glory of God, in some of the finest cathedrals and churches in the world, including St Paul's London, and St Mark's Venice. As you could imagine, this costs quite some money to organise and pay for. All members of the choir are volunteers and paying for the trip. It's very important to us that all members have the opportunity to come and sing together, so no donation is too small. Please give generously :-D
