Support Jason's Fight Against Cancer

Hello friends, my name is Josh, and I am reaching out to you for help and support for my brother, Jason.

Jason was diagnosed with Stage 4 Non-Hodgkin's Follicular Lymphoma in November 2018 and has been battling this horrible cancer ever since. For those of you who don't know, stage 4 typically indicates that the cancer is widespread and metastasized, which in his case means that it’s in his blood, lymphatic system, and bone marrow.

This devastating news hit our family extremely hard back then and has been a very difficult and challenging road ever since. But we have remained hopeful, determined, and have rallied behind him with love and support. And for several years, he was able to live a relatively “normal” life - if there even is such a thing. But he needs all of our help now more than ever.

For those that don’t know my brother personally, Jason has always been a fighter. Whether it's excelling at Jiu Jitsu, fighting for the underprivileged kids in Thailand where he studied abroad, sticking up for kids getting bullied at school, or fighting for his own life. And these past 6 years of dealing with this devastating illness have been the toughest fight he’s ever faced.

This fight just got a whole lot tougher. A few months ago, the cancer cells began to replicate more and release proteins from his bone marrow, which began to deteriorate his bones - causing calcium to leech from his bones into his bloodstream at dangerously high levels, resulting in hypercalcemia, which essentially grinds your body to a halt and can be deadly if not treated.

This dramatic and horrible progression has affected every facet of his life, resulting in everything from extreme fatigue, swollen spleen & lymph nodes, lymphedema in his legs and feet, persistent fever, and severe weight loss to a decrease in mental acuity, bone pain, and difficulty doing anything physical. All of this has prevented him from being able to work, travel, or even execute basic everyday functions.

So his oncologist urgently directed him to go to the hospital, so he was admitted to Torrance Memorial on Jan 22, 2025, where he received the proper treatments to combat his critical condition. After another PET scan, bone marrow biopsy, lymph node biopsy, comprehensive blood work, several blood transfusions, IV hydration, and nourishment, he underwent his first of several chemotherapy & immunotherapy sessions - both of which are physically, emotionally, and financially draining. So even with having health insurance, the out-of-pocket costs for treatments, medications, travel to and from medical appointments, and daily living expenses have accumulated to an overwhelming amount. Your donation will help cover these expenses, providing Jason with the best chance to focus on healing without the added stress of financial burdens. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a direct impact.

On February 3, 2025, he was released from Torrance Memorial Hospital, but unfortunately, he is back in ICU for head trauma after a nasty fall. Everyone’s prayers, positive thoughts, and love are needed and deeply appreciated while we anxiously wait for news of his condition.

Our heartfelt thanks to all of you who had previously donated. We will keep everyone updated on his progress and how your contribution is helping to make a difference.
