Hi, my name is Lee Duckett, a 51yr old husband and father of two boys. I am a huge Basketball fan. I started playing when I started Secondary School and played for most of my adult life. Unfortunately I never got to play at the higher level as I ruptured my right ACL a few months after finishing Uni. I enjoyed playing local league but have always felt I could have played to a higher standard had no injury occurred. However last Summer I spotted an advert on Facebook calling for players to trial for Fimba GB50+. I thought 'what the heck' and went along never expecting much but glad to have the chance. Unbelievably my childhood dreams have come true and I made selection. More unbelievable is that I have also been given the Captaincy for the World Cup in Croatia this Easter. After that I will be going to Switzerland for the World Championships. Sadly there is no real funding for this level of Basketball and it is very much 'pay to play'. As a full time PE teacher I will have to take unpaid leave so the impact is significant. Any amount of support will be greatly appreciated and will go towards Team kit, travel, accommodation and registration fees.
