My girlfriend, Audrey, and I recently moved across the state from Kalamazoo back to my hometown of Ypsilanti. We have been met by nothing but hardship and trouble since we got here. We were duped into a run-down, dangerous, borderline uninhabitable apartment run by a slumlord. They have now terminated our lease without any other communication after we tried to get numerous issues repaired, including a dangerous electrical problem that caused a small fire, and left us in the position of having to find a new place and move on short notice.

We’ve found a place but the upfront costs will be quite high. We will now have roommates but they can only contribute so much. On top of housing, we now have a flea infestation and a broken-down car, both of which may prove to be expensive. A lot more has happened but there simply isn’t enough space to explain it here.

We hesitate to ask for help, but we have come to the point of needing it. Anything helps and a little generosity will go a long way to dig us out of this nightmare.
