Hi, my name is Chance Smith. I am a senior at Hoven High School in Hoven, South Dakota (Potter County). I am originally from Poplar, MT and a tribal member of the Fort Peck Assiniboine and Sioux Tribes. I have been selected and will be attending the Indigenous Bowl in Southern California. This year's game will be hosted on the Soboba Indian Reservation, Dec. 17-21, 2023. I will be representing my family, friends, and tribe as one of Indian Country's top 75 high school football players, who maintain their grade point average and is seen as a leader for our next generation.
I have been playing football since I was in the 4th grade. My first AAU Team won the championship my 6th and 7th grade years. After that I played on another AAU team called the Montana Outlaws, then went on to High School Football. I have traveled and made a lot of friends throughout the years. It has helped me to be out going and a great TEAM player.
To me being selected is a great honor and it shows me that all my hard work and dedication has been worth it. This is an amazing opportunity and could help me with my future goals.
I am asking for donations to help with travel expenses' and housing. We are currently getting items together and will do a drawing. We have 2 satin star quilts at the moment. Anyone that gives a donation, no matter how big or small, will get their name in the drawing. More info to come soon.
Thank you very much!
