PPE Donations for Frontline Workers

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals in Ottawa are running low on personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes protective masks, goggles and gowns. The number of patients with COVID-19 doubles every four days, and will continue to grow exponentially within the next few months. At this rate, hospitals are desperate for PPE in order to keep both the health care professionals safe, as well as patients.


In Italy and Spain, over 10% of healthcare professionals are now infected with COVID-19 due to equipment shortages, and Ontario faces similar equipment shortages. During the SARS pandemic, Ontario stockpiled 55 million N95 masks; however, there are currently just under a million that can be used to combat COVID-19. This is not enough, and healthcare workers are constantly releasing statements about how Ottawa is in a critical shortage.


I have reached out to a PPE manufacturer in China who has agreed to supply and ship any gear needed. The equipment that this particular manufacturer provides is the same that was used by the doctors in China; they are all medical grade and FDA certified. 50,000 doctors travelled from all over China to help out Wuhan, and 0 doctors were infected using this equipment. Due to the urgency of healthcare professionals facing this infectious disease, the PPE will be arriving weekly in small shipments and donated to the hospitals ASAP.


All donations will go directly towards PPE orders and distributions to the hospitals, and every dollar counts - there is NO money to be made. I reached out to the Ottawa Hospital and below are the items they are most desperate for, and therefore where your donations will go: 


$10 - four N95 masks (tight and sealed, unlike surgical masks which are loose and unideal)

$15 -  one pair of goggles (which can be disinfected and reused multiple times)

$25 - one medical grade gown (fully sealed)

$50 - one kit for a healthcare professional to use in a day (masks, goggles, gown)

$250 - one kit for a healthcare professional to use in a week (masks, goggles, gown)

*Invoices/receipts, shipping costs and custom fees can be provided If desired.
