THE CLUB
Donation protected
Hello Friends and Family,
Don’t panic. Nothing tragic has happened. Unless you consider four girls asking for help tragic.
We’re Caroline, Rachel, Dani, and Abby, and after a few years of working in the entertainment industry, we’re finally following the irresistible urge to create a project of our own. How cringe is that! In all seriousness, we're thrilled at the prospect of bringing THE CLUB to life with your support.
THE CLUB is a comedy mockumentary pilot that follows the eccentric, slightly unequipped, and loving staff of a country club while satirizing the exclusive club culture. At the center are two female leads, General Manager Bridget Barnes and Assistant Manager Lucy Kim. Our “documentary crew” is there to follow Bridget in her second year as the first female manager in the club’s almost 100 year history. While she may try to be a shining example for all women, Bridget’s inability to read a room, keep a secret, or take anything too seriously makes her into one complicated inspiration. Luckily, the ever sweet, stressed, and sarcastic Lucy is there to keep her in check.

Whether you’re a part of this community or have been politely excluded, there’s something in here for you; lost 20 somethings finding their way, budding romances, slapstick action, a peek into a different tax bracket, and most importantly, laughs.
But amidst the humor, we've infused real heart into the story—depicting themes of coming of age, female friendship, and community.
Now, let's address the not-so-comfortable part: why we need your help. Unfortunately, producing our own pilot comes with a hefty price tag, and as we mentioned, we're just three girls. Your generous donations will go to things such as: locations, permits, insurance, equipment, food, paying the cast and crew, costumes, props, set decoration, and so much more. If you’re thinking to yourself, “I don’t have any extra cash lying around,” don’t worry! We’ll also happily take advantage of your country club membership or connections with anyone high up at a club.

A little bit about the four girls:
Caroline Farber
Writer
Caroline studied English with a concentration in screenwriting at Bowdoin College. After graduating, she went on to assist an independent producer in development and a showrunner on an Amazon series. She’s currently working on several comedy scripts although the club hits the closest to home as she worked on the golf staff at a country club throughout middle school and high school. The only female caddy and member of the golf staff, she collected many stories about club culture that may or may not make an appearance in this very project. She loved her time working at clubs and playing competitive golf and is excited to share this funny, bizarre, and humorous slice of life with the world through this script.
Rachel Layne
Director & Co-Writer
Rachel studied Producing at Chapman University and quickly realized she didn’t want to be stuck on phone calls for the rest of her life so set her sights on directing. After school, she worked at United Talent Agency in the comedy department, then did some world gallivanting assisting a director and producer across two of their feature films. Now she is back in Los Angeles working as a script coordinator and producer's assistant and trying to get THE CLUB made. Rachel hopes THE CLUB makes people giggle, offers an ounce of comfort, and challenges the rich people she’s crossed paths with to question why they need to be exclusionary to have fun. (Rachel also hates the word gallivanting).
Dani Weisfeld
Producer
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dani's passion for storytelling through film and photography has always been her driving force. After graduating from Chapman University, her career has led her to work at a daytime talk show, an unscripted production company, and on multiple feature films. She's embraced every opportunity to hone her craft and learn from the best. THE CLUB, her first producing project, is a hilarious and heartfelt story worth being told. With infectious enthusiasm and a knack for finding the extraordinary in the ordinary, Dani is poised to captivate audiences with these incredible characters.
Abby Jeffrey
Producer
Abby studied Journalism at Miami University, but always knew she wanted to work in entertainment. After graduating, she got a job at Fox Entertainment in creative advertising and has been there ever since! However, in her free time, she loves to stay busy and explore the more creative side of the industry. She recently produced her first project this spring and dabbles in both acting and writing. Being from a small coastal town in Maine with a large out-of-state summer community, she really resonates with the characters in THE CLUB. She’s so excited to see this story come to life!
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you so much for taking the time to check out our site and consider donating. We really couldn’t do this without your support. We will keep you updated on the progress of The Club!
